Kilden Performing Arts Centre in Kristiansand is the fantastic new theatre long awaited by the people of Kristiansand. It will really help put Kristiansand on the European map for arts and entertainment.
It is the biggest arts centre between Oslo and Stavanger
and is expected to officially open its doors in January
2012.
When you think of the Opera House in Sydney - its style
comes to mind. Unforgettable. It is a bit like the
Kilden theatre in Kristiansand. The difference is, it
has been with a Norwegian touch - Norwegian wood! (Not
entirely of course)
Kilden has enough room for audiences of up to 2270. The
Concert Hall is the biggest with its 1185 seats. The
Theatre and Opera Hall holds 700 seats, and the Multi
Hall and the Intimscenen holds 235 and 150 seats
respectively.
The great thing about the Kilden theatre, is its
location. Situated next to Kristiansand Fiskebrygga -
what a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon. A few
fish cakes at the fish market and then some
entertainment at Kilden.
Here are videos of how to get to Kilden from the fiskebrygga and by car.
